 RSSKanna the Lady Ninja This Sunday at Ozon, the top booty shakers in central Japan will compete to qualify for a spot in the Dancehall Queen Japan 2009 finals. One of the dancers putting her ass on the line is Kanna the Lady Ninja. We got Kanna to tell us about her favorite move, the appeal of Jamacian culture in Japan, and where to kick it in Mie.
HN: Where did you get the name "Lady Ninja?" Do you have any other nicknames? KLN: My name don't have a great meaning to it. I don't remember how I got it, but my friends started to call me by that name, and I liked it, so I just made it my dancer name. My other nickname is Kan-chan, which is from my real name Kanna.
HN: How many times have you participated in the Dancehall Queen Japan contest? How well did you do? KLN: This one coming up will be my second time. I entered last year, and went to finals but dropped in second round. HN: How did you get started as a dancer? How did you become interested in dancehall music? KLN: I became interested in dancehall when I was about to graduate high school. I ended up going to this reggae bar in Kyoto, and I got hooked. I started to buy DVDs of Jamaican dancehall, and watch stuff online, and started to dance. I been dancing ever since.
HN: What are you known for as a dancer? Do you have any special moves? How would you describe your style? KLN: Mmmmm, I don't know ... but probably "vybez." That's what people tell me, that I got vybez. And I would say that my special move is wining. I think I do that pretty well. I could also be pretty funny and entertaining when I'm feeling comfortable. HN: What other dancers do you like to work with? KLN: I been enjoying doing shows with Chucky who is also going to be in DHQ. Our team name is "Ying Yang."
HN: Are there any dancers that you admire or who inspire you? KLN: All dancers who got their original style. HN: Are there any dancers you don't like? KLN: Maybe.
HN: Why do you think Jamaican culture, music, and dance are so popular in Japan? KLN: Mmmmm ... probably one is because Japanese people still cling to traditional Japanese cultural behaviour where they reserve themselves when they have to, so people are probably finding something or somewhere where they could free up and not be so Japanese ... and Jamaican culture is unique and attractive.
HN: Where is the party at in Mie? Where are the cool places to hang out? KLN: Mie is not the best place to party but I got great friends here, so we have fun wherever we go. I go to different events here. I feel very comfortable being around good friends in Mie. The beach is pretty close to where I live, so when it's warm, we go hang out at the beach or the river ... and I also go to dance studio a lot to go dance.
HN: Who's gonna win DHQ Japan this year? KLN: No comment.
Aaron:I can confirm after seeing Kanna first hand, she is one fuck off good dancer. Regarding Dancehall Queen contests - if there was an event like this held every week, I would happily attend regularly if not religiously. Update:Kanna the Lady Ninja was one of four dancers chosen to move on to the national dancehall competition, along with Randy Mink, Hwam, and Chammy. Kanna was the only dancer praised by name by Junko, a former international dancehall queen there judging the event. Following three homages to Michael Jackson in the first round, Junko complimented Kanna for her original style. We'll get some video up for you soon. Video Update:This video comes courtesy of Aaron. The promoters of Dancehall Queen Japan didn't allow video or photographs of the event, but Aaron managed to capture Lady Ninja's performance in round 1. I can't speak for the other guys but if I was single I'd have set my sights on her. NimpoManiac?:Like someone obsessed with nimpo, ninja knowledge? If so, could he really have been that surprised? She does call herself Lady Ninja. And if she really is a NimpoManiac, she just got way hotter. Label me suspicious, but I think he means something else. I believe there's a typo in his comment, and by typo I mean that guy doesn't know how to spell what he wants to say. Can anybody help him out? n8:NimbleManiac Kinetic Selector:in japanese you write m but it is pronounced n, kempo= kenpo, nimpo= ninpo, in romanji at least so you are the one that doesn't know how to spell, ha! Yeah! ask her, she's a real nimpomaniac, like other guy said, she's been dubbed lady ninja and nimpo is ninja's way, and she's a real maniac, so she is a nimpomaniac she loves the daggerin and she is a great dancer, she specializes in the horizontal mambo, ha! you can ask her and she will confirm everything, yeah she tried to marry me, but not really failed, i told her a few things, - if we marry her fan club will get angry and she will have to use her nimpo skills (ha!) to prevent them from killing me. -i told her that it would halter her career to marry me because she could not focus on becoming the champion of japan because she will be stuck home doing my domestic sh*t, cuz i am becoming typical oyaji work all day out all night shaggin every other girl & all her friends but not her, ha! (well, maybe sometimes i will shag her, well more than sometimes, she is very nice to me, actually i'll shag her all the time when ever i am not shaggin all the other beautiful girls) yeah and always angry and grumpy and if i do decide to stay home and my place is not immaculate and tea is not warm fish is not fried and rice is not cooked and she is not massaging my back then i will raise hell! ROAR! what! you didn't take my clothes to dry cleaner?! there's a wrinkle in my sport coat?! ROAR!(in reality she told me that will never happen because she is really good at doing all that stuff if that makes her more appealing) so, in her better interest i told her a few more things, if she will become the champion of japan i will think more about marrying her, or if she can not find a good shag then i might marry her,... hmmmm, what else... i think she forgot to mention in her interview that she loves bukake & when she is feeling naughty nakadashi, but it never crossed my mind to see if she likes or can do reggae shiofuku like aya or kaede aka yoko anything else you wanna know just ask her and she will tell, she is cool like that, she is an amazing person and an awesome friend, she always checks up on me to see how i am doing, and outside of work i don't have any friends, so you can really see how great she is to be a friend to someone that doesn't have any, ha! previously in another lifetime/alter ego that i deny in my current & professional life i worked as a disc jockey for a long long time, i have seen so many reggae dancer, gogo dancers, ballroom dancers, ravers, drunk/high dancers etc. when i first saw her i was so impressed, her and her previous dance unit blew me away, i couldn't believe what i was seeing, then she liked actually came up and talked to me i was so amazed i had to try to stop drooling, ha! be sure to join her fan club and attend her events she will be present at, if you can do it right she will allow you to commence to daggerin, who knows you might get lucky (more likely will than not, ha!) Josh:Commas are not an appropriate substitute for periods. Eric: So in actuality, she is trying to become Dancehall Queen Japan to win your heart so that you will marry her? That's really romantic. I'll try to ask better questions in my next interview. Or if you like, you can do a follow-up interview and we can post it up. Kinetic Selector:no she is becoming dhq japan for herself because she has the raw talent, even junkosama says, believe it or not the way I know kannasama, she doesn't really care if she wins or loses, if she advances or not, whether inna jamaica, or inna japan, inna NY, CT or next to me, inna her bedroom at her grandmas house, she will be dancing, if she knew me or not she will be dancin, if you know the definition of the term, she is a true "galang gyal", she do her ting if people are watching or not, if they hate or love, she hi and dont give a F***, she makes the popcorn pop and the guns a fully automatics go BRRRAAP! if she wins or not she knows shes a champion and everyone will boo if she is not crowned. you can ask her anything and she will tell she is so cool, ask her the square root of pi and she will give you an answer, her and i are similar in the aspect that we are in constant need of stimuli of the multi sensory perceptions, KINdread, kindred, =like same, kin=like family dread=like natty i never grabbed her arse or groped her or shagged her or tried to link w her because i respect her as a formidable opponent as we are both ninja, being a ninja you are knowledgable of the guiles treacherous cunning and skillful deceit of the female kunoichi ninja and their techniques, maybe she was interested with me because i was the only one who could resist her nimpo attack (ha!) or she felt i was the unconquered on her path of destruction (of hearts,ha!) or path to the top of the dhq given this is a ninja website i will share a part of my ninpo and you can expound on this aspect on another part of this ninja website in the techniques section, i feel my ninpo may be advanced or different from her nimpo (HA!) (i have to do that everytime i type that you can guess why) as she engages while i abide and subscribe to the subterfuge methods, there is only a few of us that still practice this form but it has been incorporated into many other everythings. i gave the her the chinese mandarin duck charm, according the certain chinese principles and natures way in general, the mandarin ducks mate for life, they are always together with their mate, they yearn for each other and become depressed when they are apart to the point they become sick and die, you will always find mandarin ducks in pair with mate following close by. like other techniques in this set of methods it will not work for yourself but only if you inflict upon someone. i gave her the charm, she unknowingly placed it in the side of her bed where she gets in and out of, it will help you find a mate (to get in and out of bed with but there are different applications, this was the one i manipulated her into), as the universe communicates through symbolisms and the perceptions of them,(my type of)ninpo manipulates them to whatever chosen advantage sought. now there is 1 she yearns for who is not me, that was how i got her off my back, her getting famous is counteractive to the path of "nin". she is widely seen while i do everything to not be, staying true to the path of nin I remain anonymous, unseen, unheard, only the impact of the energy present & felt but the person absent, ahhh yes, how you know it was KINetic Selector, KIN= like family, kinetic= movement (of mass),energy,heat,friction,light,making sound,noise,power KINetic= movement of the massive,movement of the brethren KINetic Selector= choose the movement ahhh yes, my fellow ninja, the way of nin prevails, through love and war alike, you can see me everyday everywhere, i am the random jr.oyaji (not quite yet a true and bonafide oyaji ha! give me 15 more years & my career will develope to that point) you see commuting,eating at food stand, drooling at gals,courting oh ne girls, buying drink at vending machine, sitting on a bench,walking out of the happy ending salon,catching cab etc. big up and shot outs to choi baedal aka sosai mas oyama the man who no ninja wants to engage, and grandmaster happosai for revealing the true way of the ninja, and the whole hikanninja clan props for the snatched vid of kanasama add comment |
